It is best to plant garlic in the fall after the first frosts and before the ground freezes, but it can also be planted in the early spring as soon as the ground can be worked. Break up bulbs and plant individual cloves, scar side down, 2 in. deep and 4-6 in. apart. This item will not be available to ship until September.
