Native to the Northwestern United States, Calochortus is also known as The Mariposa Lily
or The Star Tulip. The cup-shaped flowers have intricate brush marks and grass-like foliage.
The plants prefer rich, well drained soil, and they hate repeated freezing and thawing.
They enjoy moist springs, but need a summer dry spell to perform well. Plant 4" deep
and 4" apart.
